Thirsty beer drinkers can now start planning what they want to drink at the Festival as the Beer list has finally arrived. Regular readers will already know a lot of the more unusual beers that we are sourcing but now the full list is revealed here for the first time.

Thanks to sterling work by our Beer Ordering People we have managed to acquire over 40 different beers from suppliers both near and far. We are hoping to announce the next and final batch later this week. We will have to as the programme is due to go to the press at the same time.:) Most beers are publicised on our web site but the complete list will appear here as well as in the programme.

Small World Beers
Dave Hill, the brewer at Small World Beers in Shelley, Huddersfield, has agreed to supply the 2016 Calderdale Beer and Cider Festival with a cask of the brewery’s award winning Thunderbridge Stout (5.2%). This traditionally dry stout incorporates roasted barley and is balanced with chocolate malt for slight sweetness. It is brewed with natural spring water and Challenger hops.
Just heard that our Oh Mr Porter moment will be an old one – 1872. More news to follow as well as other bad railway metaphors. After the discussion last night we were aiming to have a balanced offering of beers but its nice to see some old favourites. As always details will be available as soon as we are able to confirm them.
Following negotiations with Tara and Elaine at Mallinsons Brewing Company Ltd in Huddersfield, it has been agreed that a special Mallinsons railway-themed ale will be brewed to commemorate 175 years of the Calder Valley Line. The beer will be called ‘Hop on Board’ and will be 4.5%, but all other details are a closely guarded secret.
Tara and Elaine will also source another of our festival beers from Josh the brewer at Blue Bee Brewery in Sheffield. The beer, Blue Bee Ginger Beer, is described as a ‘fiery ginger pale’.
